Collaborative information, Acquisition, Processing, Exploitation and Reporting for the prevention of organised crime
The goal of CAPER project is to create a common platform for the prevention of organised crime through information sharing, exploitation and analysis of open and closed information sources. The platform will be built in cooperation with users of European Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA). The focus of the project is on the acquisition of information from the Internet, mass media and existing LEAs information systems. CAPER will integrate the acquired data in order to be able to process automatically any type of information and to solve current obstacles faced by LEAs. The system will provide a unique method of information access applied to 13 languages and will support multilingual analysis of text, audio, video, images and biometrics information, presented in a collaborative application underpinned by visual analytics and data mining. The inclusion of database integration technologies (ETL), workflow application and semantic modelling of processes and legal limitations will permit participating LEAs share informational, investigative and experiential knowledge.
