Information Retrieval and Delivery System for SMEs
HERMES is an Information Retrieval and Delivery System specifically designed for SMEs and institutions which need to keep up with the pace of fast-evolving domains. Project participants developed an Experimental Service Center based on Text Mining, Memory-Based Reasoning and NetCasting technology to provide SMEs with Full Text Information Selective Routing.
The system developed within the HERMES project features the following characteristics:
- A dynamic mechanism that automatically searches for documents on the basis of user profiles
- A classification method for downloaded documents based on Linguistic Analysis and Text Mining techniques
- A Memory-Based Reasoning capability, ensuring that similar users are delivered the same type of documents, thus enabling an "expert" information routing instead of a simple topic categorization.
