SyNTHEMA releases the SMS input module, making it available as a functional module inside SyN Semantic Center™ platform. This module allows users to search for and receive information by Short Message Service. SyNTHEMA will attend the "Salone della Giustizia" that will be held in Rimini on 3rd-6th December. This congress, promoted by the Argentinian Professional Association of Market Research, will be held in Buenos Aires on 2nd-3rd November 2009, hosted at the Borges Cultural Center. Furio Camillo will present a Sentiment Mining study, which monitors Buenos Aires lifestyle, hiliting moods and young people attitude to life, having analysed blogs, newsgroups and articles. SyNTHEMA has been invited to the International Workshop on Counterterrorism and Open Source Intelligence, one of the most significant events in the field of counterterrorism and open source intelligence today. The workshop is an opportunity for researchers, professionals, law enforcement officers, intelligence agencies, and industry decision makers to establish professional relationships and serves as a platform for the formation of international cooperation. This workshop will take place at the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, University of South Denmark, on 27-28th October 2009. SyNTHEMA has been invited by the organizers of the International Conference on Advances in Social Networks Analysis and Mining 2010 to join the Technical Program Committee (TPC) of ASONAM 2010. Following the great success of ASONAM09 in Athens (20-22 July 2009), ASONAM2010 will be held in Odense, Denmark, August 9-11, 2010, and the proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press. Due to the nature of social networks related research, ASONAM is a multidisciplinary conference that spans areas from information and computer science, communication studies, business and organizational studies, sociology, psychology, anthropology, applied linguistics, biology, statistics and mathematics. It is a major forum for researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and government to present, discuss, and exchange ideas that address real-world problems with real-world solutions. SyNTHEMA will attend the International Conference on Technologies for Translation organized by Bologna University's Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators at Forlì on 9-10th October 2009. Mario Spoto will present "What future for computer aids and translators?". SyNTHEMA will attend the ASONAM 2009, Advances in Social Networks Analysis and Mining Conference, that will be held in Athens on July 20th-22nd. Federico Neri, member of the scientific committee, will present “Online Police Station, a state-of-the-art Italian Semantic Technology against cybercrime”. SyNTHEMA will attend the 13th International Conference on Information Visualization, that will be held in Barcelona on July 14-17th. Federico Neri and Paolo Geraci will present “Mining Textual Data to boost Information Access in OSINT”. SyNTHEMA attended the Semantic Technology Conference, that was held in San Jose, California, on June 14-18th. Federico Neri and Paolo Geraci presented “Overcoming Linguistic Barriers in Open Source Intelligence” in the 2nd Annual Government Sidebar. SyNTHEMA attended EURISBIS 2009, the European Regional Meeting of the International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics, that was held in Cagliari from May 30th to June 3rd. Federico Neri and Furio Camillo gave a speech on semiometry applied to travel blogs in the E-Data Mining session on June 1st. SyNTHEMA and Federico Neri, member of the scientific committee, attended the 10th International Conference on Data Mining, Detection, Protection and Security, that was held in Crete on May 27-29th.
